Abstract

Hothouse tomato production has grown in all three NAFTA countries. Hothouse tomatoes represent about 12% of U.S. fresh tomato consumption but a higher share of retail purchases. The competitive impact is being felt by the traditional mature green industry, leading to new market dynamics.
