Big Ag Data Conference

The Giannini Foundation of Agricultural Economics is sponsoring a Big Ag Data Conference at UC Davis on January 10, 2020. The Big Ag Data Conference will be held at the Walter A. Buehler Alumni Center, UC Davis, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a reception and dinner at the Manetti Shrem Museum.

The goal of the conference is to bring big data experts, applied economists, statisticians, and econometricians together to share knowledge about newly available datasets, cutting-edge methods, and priorities for empirical and policy research.

Transportation

By Air: The closest airport is SMF (Sacramento). It is a roughly 20 minute drive from Davis. The Davis Airporter serves SMF (and SFO). Lyft and Uber also pick up from SMF.  Alternatively, you can fly to SFO (San Francisco) or OAK (Oakland), both of which are an hour and half to two hour drive away from Davis without traffic.

By Train: The Amtrak Station is in downtown Davis. The station is walking distance to campus.

Parking on Campus: Visitor parking is required. Parking lots #1 and #2 on the south side of the campus, are the closest lots to the Walter A. Buehler Alumni Center (payment can be made on site). Please see the campus parking map for more details.

Accommodation

A block of rooms is available at Hyatt Place UC Davis. The hotel is located on campus, a short walk to the conference site. Room rates include free breakfast and parking.
